In this Year 5 and Year 6 percentages resource, students can practice finding the percent of an amount. There are 30 questions where students will find the percent given the part and whole.

Both multipliers and divisors are used throughout to calculate an equivalent fraction with a denominator of 100. Two example slides are provided for students to follow and examples are given at the top of each worksheet.

Differentiation/Scaffolding

  1. The first 20 google slides are color coded (part and whole) to help students build knowledge of the method. The remaining 10 slides are not color coded and students must identify the part and whole without support.

  2. 1 set of worksheets are black and white and a further colour coded copy is included so that educators can differentiate within their percentage lesson.

Question formats include:

What percent of 50 is 27?
What percent of 300 is 171
