KS5 PSHE 2026

NEW - A selection of brand new 2026 EC Publishing KS5 PSHE lessons. Perfect for teens navigating our challenging modern world. There are 9 hours of total content as three of the lessons are doubles, each coming with detailed easy to follow PowerPoint, worksheets, clips, activities and info packs. Made by a wonderful team of consultants and teachers who are, above all, humans, not AI (we write check every word and fact and are happy to stake our company reputation on what we produce). **Includes:** 1) Driving and travel safety - covering the risks young people face as they travel home, from being with friends on a night out, or alone. Also covers cycle safety, young driver safety, passenger safety, using licensed taxis and getting home safely and the risks of being a passenger with an intoxicated driver and ways to manage this. 2) Resilience, Wisdom and Being Tough - 2 hour lesson which may be one of the most important lessons we’ve ever produced. The lesson informs students about the realistic levels of challenge they will face as they strive for a successful adulthood in modern, competitive Britain. The topics are all off-line subjects for this lesson, and those covered are; mortgages and the housing market, university and alternatives, pensions and their importance, attitude and entitlement and credit scores. The lesson aims to equip students with essential knowledge they need and the inspiration to be tough, resilient, wise and future-proof. 3) Careers in an AI Future - This lesson delves into the ultimate careers question - which jobs will be future-proof in a world of AI? Students will first examine their own skills and qualities and research the current climate with regard to the rise of AI use in the job market. They will then study 24 different jobs, broken down into the six sectors which are likely to value human input and characteristics in the years to come. Students will assess these jobs against their own skills and qualities, before deciding if pursuing any of these options would be a good fit for them. This lesson will likely last two hours. 4) Body Image, Filters and AI - how are AI filters and social media affecting our body image? In this lesson students delve into ‘filter dysmorphia’ - a new but growing phenomenon affecting the mental health of teens. Students will investigate how filters are creating completely unrealistic beauty standards - and how with the help of AI, almost undetectable filters are being applied not just to images, but to the videos of influencers and peer social media users too. Students will discover what is behind ‘Instagram Face’, why everyone is starting to look the same as each other in their uploads and the effect this is having on social media users. They will also discover useful and practical ways to relieve any negative thoughts or dysmorphia and the real message of the lesson - the importance of being authentic. 5) Extremism and Fake News - This two-hour lesson covers how we can check whether news posts on social media are real or fake, why its always important to check, especially before sharing, what can happen if we don’t, and how easily social media can lead us into extremist ways of thinking. Students will investigate a variety of news posts to assess whether they think they are real or fake, before checking them against verifiable sources, such as Full Fact, scientific research papers or official UK government data. All this information is included in an accessible, student-friendly way. 6) Alcohol, risks and responsible behaviour - A focus on alcohol, drinking responsibly, health effects and binge-drinking consequences. The lesson will take you an hour and has a wide range of activities, Students will investigate how alcohol affects our major organs, with a focus on the brain - showing how easy it is to make poor decisions about relationships and also explaining how it affects physical co-ordination and personal risk-assessment. The lesson contains a source pack, clip with questions and answers, exit ticket plenary and lots of information so you don’t need to already be an expert. 4) Extremism - Algorithms and Subcultures - Brand new PSHE lesson all about how video platform algorithms (such as YouTube and Tiktok) can lead us to viewing extreme ideas and conspiracy theories, as well as subcultures (such as incels culture /misogyny) - often without us ever intending to. The lesson investigates what these extreme subcultures are, and how we are allowing platforms to shape our views and interests and what this may mean for wider society. They will examine the 'frog in a pot' analogy to show how extremist views can take such a stronghold on people. 8) Immigration, Migrant Hotels and Flags - A new PSHE / Citizenship lesson focusing on why there is so much debate surrounding the housing of migrants in hotels, why there are so many flags appearing everywhere around the UK and why we’re seeing an increase in street protests . Students will investigate the reasons for both sides protesting (pro and anti asylum seekers in hotels), the difference between hate speech and free speech and the difference between patriotism and nationalism. There is enough content to last up to 2 hours. Who are EC Resources?
