Students evaluate if whether religion is a cause for war and violence. They will learn historical examples of religious war as well as recent examples of this.

The case study about Charlie Hebdo ties in with the Islamic principles of a just war. Students explore the idea of the attack being disproportionate which sparks an interesting debate. My students spoke quite passionately about how wrong the attack was and what could have been done instead.
