This intervention is a structured programme designed to help young people understand their internal states, recognise what their bodies and emotions are telling them, and develop practical strategies to stay calm, focused, and in control. It teaches pupils that regulation is a skill — not something they are expected to “just know” — and supports them to build this skill through modelling, practice, and reflection.

The programme supports young people to:
• Notice early signs of dysregulation
• Understand how thoughts, feelings, and body sensations are connected
• Identify personal triggers and patterns
• Learn and practise regulation strategies that work for them
• Build confidence in using tools independently
• Strengthen problem‑solving and coping skills
• Develop resilience and a sense of agency over their behaviour
