Introduction

  • This resource works well as a full lesson closer once the content has been taught
  • Students need to be able to find I, P, r and T using I = PrT and A using A = P + I

How to play

  • Display the grid of 25 answers (slide 2) on your projector
  • Ask the students to write 9 of the answers down in a 3 x 3 grid
  • You then cycle through the slides, each of which has a question for the students to answer
  • Answers are visible to the teacher in Presenter View
  • Students cross off answers on their grid as they appear
  • Depending on the ability of your group, you can either work through each question to make the solution clear or let the students work it out for themselves (in the case of the latter, you can keep a record of which answers have come up using the presentation view)
  • Students can receive prizes for 3 in a row, 4 corners and full house, or another combination of your choice
  • Keep playing until one student achieves a full house (in the case of a tie, the first person to call ‘BINGO!’ wins – a handy motivator for students to work quickly)

What’s included?

  • 3 versions of the Simple Interest Bingo Powerpoint
  • Each of these versions has the question slides in a different order, allowing for more repeat plays
  • There is also a macro enabled version that includes code to reshuffle the slides, allowing for unlimited replays (recommended for advanced users)
