I made this for the beginning of a new chemistry unit for my year 9 class. It is intended to be used as a recap for students who studied SLG’s and atoms in year 7 or 8. Lesson includes a PowerPoint presentation with accompanying notes and an opportunity for numeracy when looking at the scale of atoms and converting into standard form. The lesson is designed to cover the following learning objectives:
• Recall the structure of an atom
• Predict the states of different substances at different temperatures
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the particle model.
