Integrated learning in Chemistry/Science.
Integration of story telling in Chemistry/science is a cross-curricular pedagogical approach that utilizes various aspects of story telling and culture as the basis for learning of concepts across subjects. As a part of the thrust on experiential learning, language integration in science education will be embedded in classroom transactions not only for creating joyful classrooms, but also for imbibing the Indian ethos through integration of Indian art and culture in the teaching and learning process at every level. This integrated approach will strengthen the linkages between education and culture.
Fire proof clothing and story of Holiga:
According to the Vishnu Purana, Holika told her brother that due to a boon she had received, she was invulnerable to fire.  Holika dons her scarf or her fireproof garment, arrangements were made to have Prahlada sit upon the lap of his aunt, atop a burning pyre. However, as Prahlada chanted the name of Vishnu, he escaped unscathed, while Holika was incinerated as the scarf flew off from her and covered Prahlada.

Making fireproof material using Borax/ alum solution:
The high heat transfer and reflectivity properties of aluminium contribute toward reducing the impact of the heat on the structure. Less heat is absorbed, and, when absorbed, the heat is transferred away from the heat source much quicker. In addition, the emissivity of aluminium is 7-to-9 times lower than steel.
