28 maths worksheets with facing teachers’ notes, general guidance and three appendix sheets in a 64-page PDF for Years 9–11.
Three sections develop mathematical study skills, pencil-and-paper methods and vocabulary. Students practise reading problems, drawing diagrams, taking notes, selecting information, setting out work, showing methods, checking units and answers, estimating, memorising and visualising shapes. Arithmetic and fractions work is followed by vocabulary activities.
Notes provide aims, preparation, classroom approaches, differentiation, answers and extensions where relevant. Appendix materials include a timetable, shape diagrams and a problem-solving sheet.
Use selected pages for revision, end-of-topic homework, diagnosis of difficulties or cover work. The emphasis is on transferable maths skills across different contexts, with the level and time adapted to the group.
This is the original 2000 publication. Historical National Curriculum and GCSE references are retained without a claim of alignment with a current curriculum or examination specification.
