Made for KS4 GCSE Geography, case study of one river basin.
Six sheets in total, 3 positives and 3 negatives.
Positives:
Leisure- white water rafting
Hydroelectric power
Creates a bridge (link) across the river
Negatives:
Barrage does not prevent flooding from downstream
Fishing is disrupted
Students must think of their own
Each sheet gives information on each of the above subjects.
I use these as a carousel activity where in pairs students are either a positive or negative. Each student has to visit 3 tables and then teach their partner what they have learnt (usually to fill in a table).
