The Atlas Challenge

Activity designed for use as a starter or a plenary activity in Geography. Used with KS 3 students as part of a unit of work on use of the Atlas. There are 5 different challenges covering different word regions. All 5 challenges consist of 4 questions which get progressively harder and the students (individually or in pairs) are given 35 seconds to find the correct answer using the Philips Modern School Atlas. Embedded timers and hyperlinks ensure pace and dictates that a challenge will take no more than 5 minutes, students enjoy the competitive nature of the activity.
