This Digestive System pack covers how the GI tract, absorption of nutrients and metabolism are interrelated. It identifies and describes each organ required for digestion and has students label the parts of the digestive system. To make sure students are really understanding how the digestive process works, there is a cut and paste the functions of the organs task and revision questions for the more advanced. To add a hands-on, practical component teachers have the choice of incorporating the Bread in a Bag (basic) or Gum to Bum (scientific) experiments to really gross out students and get the process stuck in their heads. Step by step methods for both are included. To sum up their learning, students get to be creative and write a narrative of how their favourite food gets digested. Answers to all tasks are included, as is an example story to read through as a class before letting students run wild with their creative story telling. All of this is packed in a bright and colourful file.
