3 lessons dedicated to the Russian Revolution, but told by investigating 3 men from the time:

Lesson 1- Rasputin
Lesson 2- Lenin
Lesson 3- Stalin

Each lesson has a dedicated notes sheet which is designed to be done during the lesson/presentation. The marks show how many points students are expected to be able to give.

The overall task for the lesson is to then write a short essay. These focus on word count to try and encourage students to extend their work. This should be completed in the jotter or on a laptop.

I currently use these lessons with S3 (Year 9 English System), and frame them as ‘developing study/ listening skills’. Students have reacted well to them and enjoy the challenge of the mini essay, which can be set as homework or completed in class time.
