This resource relates to the AQA specification for GCSE (UK) exams from 2018 onwards. The lesson is part of the ‘Economic futures in the UK module’ This 1-2 HOUR lesson teaches pupils about the apparent divide in quality of live between northern and southern areas in the UK. Thought providing cartoons are used to prompt children of the key issues. Students will then take part in a market place task, to learn what these differences are and why they exist. Finally students are to research the government’s solution to this divide.

Some good cartoon pictures to show North and South Divide. Although, the links to starter video no longer exist.
