This one-page help sheet introduces division by showing pupils how to make equal groups and identify a remainder.
Using the example 14 ÷ 3, pupils follow 14 counters as they are arranged into four groups of three, with two counters left over. The three colour-coded steps explain what the calculation means, how to count the complete groups and how to write the answer as 4 remainder 2.
The worked example also shows how to check the answer using multiplication and subtraction. Suitable for introducing remainders in class or as a reference sheet during independent practice.
