I have written a set of unofficial exam papers for the Research Methods section of the exams. This is the first set.

I have made a YouTube video explaining how to find ‘clues’ in the stimulus. It might be an idea for students to try the paper first, then watch the video to see if they would need to make any changes.

The stimulus for this one is set in prison, (it’s also the stimulus for the 2nd set).

There are 24 marks as per the real exam and students should be allocated 30 minutes to complete it.

The comprehensive mark scheme allows for easy marking and peer marking.

This paper test:

  • Experimental Method
  • Experimental Design
  • Control Measure - counterbalancing
  • Ethics - Deception and Informed Consent
  • Dealing with ethical issues
  • % Decrease
  • Interpreting a table of results
  • Sign Test
  • Value of N and Calculated value of S
  • Significance
  • Implications to the economy

I usually use narrow margins, so if the formatting is out, then change the margins to narrow. If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch with me on this website, or on twitter @blonde_pretzel or YouTube: Psychology Students
