Mathematics is a subject which can be difficult to engage students in. A common complaint from pupils I teach is that they see no point to what they are learning and no relevance of the content they are being taught to real life. As such they constantly ask questions like “what’s the point in what I am learning?” and “when am I going to use this in real life?”

This interactive Powerpoint answers those questions and more. It educates pupils on the importance of Mathematics, the relevance of it in real life and what careers studying it can lead to.

The Powerpoint encourages class discussion and interaction and includes activities for pupils to complete. It could be used as part of a PSHE lesson, careers day, during form time or even as part of a Maths lesson to encourage and motivate more reluctant learners.
