Lesson 9-11= This Triple lesson focuses on the Newspaper Industry, with a particular focus upon the two selected EDUQAS Media forms; 'The Daily Mirror' and 'The Times' as well as other editions of these newspapers and others that covered Trump's election. The lesson covers:

-Newsworthiness (Galtung and Ruge)= A* theorists mentioned in EDUQAS SPEC
- The newsworthiness and construction of Trump's election in 'The Times' and 'The Daily Mirror'
-Regulation witha brief look at all British Media regulators; OFCOM, BBFC, ASA and a concentrated focus upon IPSO.
-Self-regulation vs. Independent Regulation
-Gatekeeping
-Pre and post-Leveson Enquiry and it's significant impact upon the British Press. Engaging resource and debate looking at those for and against tighter regulation of Britain's newspapers.
-A debate and analysis of Leveson's recommendations and whether they have been carried out since.
-2 SAMS assessment questions for students to apply newfound knowledge under time conditions (1 can be issued at teacher's discretion for H/W).

This will be uploaded as a series of lessons on Component 1, Section Band will be part of a group of resources with different theories/terms as headings under each Exam Component.

This lesson is therefore Ideal for those wanting to Team Teach or teach Component 1, Sections A and B at differing times.

NOTE: I am following EDUQAS Teaching Model 1 in my teaching/ SOW and my school is only providing Media Studies at A-Level, as a Two- Year Course. Moreover, each lesson has a task whereby students RAG (Red, Amber, Green) what they have learnt in the lesson against an Examiner checklist (Differentiation, peer assessment).
