Year 6 Arithmetic | 40 Weekly SATs Practice Papers

40 weekly Year 6 arithmetic papers, designed to provide consistent SATs-style practice throughout the school year.

Each paper contains 36 questions worth 40 marks and follows the familiar structure of the KS2 Paper 1 arithmetic test. The papers are designed to be printed double-sided on A4 and used as a weekly arithmetic practice or assessment.

Based on analysis of recent SATs papers
The papers have been created following a detailed review of the 2022–2026 KS2 arithmetic tests, looking at the content and structure of the questions that pupils are actually asked.

This includes consideration of:

• The types of calculations used
• The position of different question types within the paper
• The size and range of numbers used
• Decimal places and place value
• Fractions, including mixed numbers
• Percentages of amounts
• Long multiplication and long division
• Missing-number and answer-box questions
• Order of operations, including squares and cubes
• Powers of 10

The aim is to give pupils regular practice that feels familiar to the format and level of the real SATs arithmetic paper.

Consistent format across all 40 papers
The papers follow a consistent structure, making it easier to identify patterns in pupils’ performance.

Because question positions remain consistent across the papers, teachers can look beyond the overall mark and identify particular areas that may need further practice. For example, repeated errors on a particular question position can highlight a specific calculation type or misconception.
