Here is a 24 question treasure hunt I made for revision purposes for my Year 6 children in their quest for SATs success! I found my children were excellent at applying the knowledge of the area formula for squares, rectangles, parallelograms and triangles in the lesson, yet when they had a mixture of questions they kept forgetting which to apply.

There are 24 questions to this treasure hunt which include questions on:
1) Area of squares
2) Area of rectangles
3) Area of triangles
4) Area of parallelograms
5) Area of compound shapes
6) Perimeter of shapes
7) Perimeter of compound shapes
8) Use of formula to find the area.

I allowed my children to work in pairs and go through the questions together. Then, we marked them together [answers included.] My class loved this and it really helped them to apply the knowledge they had acquired in class.

Very disappointed to have paid for a resource to find that there are two mistakes on the answer sheet - not very helpful when I left the activity for PPA cover.
