Grant Snyman is currently enrolled as a DPhil doctoral candidate at Nelson Mandela University, Gqeberha (South Africa). After matriculating from Grey High School (2011), he went on to complete his Bachelor of Music Degree (BMus) in Clarinet performance, graduating cum laude (2015) and his Masters of Music Degree (MMus) in choral and orchestral conducting (2017). Grant was the recipient of the Charles Bryars’ Scholarship, several academic bursaries, two Merit Awards for Academic Excellence in the Faculty of Arts and several SAMRO bursaries. In 2020, he was recognized as one of the ‘Top 100’ university students in the country and was awarded the International DAAD Scholarship. More recently, he has been awarded the prestigious NIHSS-SAHDU Scholarship Award.
