Family and relationships

Powerpoint about family and relationships between family members. On slide 2 I asked students to think of examples for masculine and feminine words and to come and write them on the board with mon or ma. Slides 8 onwards is a gap fill activity which could be done on mini whiteboards.

Ma famille - reliez les mots

Just a little vocab match-up worksheet. There's a few of the same on 1 sheet so you'll need to cut them up. Vocabulary used - my brother, my grandad, my cousin (male), my grandma, my mum, my sister, my cousin (female), my dad

Bingo Numbers MFL Activity

Numbers 1-90 to print off and cut out. I put them in an envelope and pick numbers out at random and read out the numbers in Spanish (could be done for any language). I bought bingo cards really cheap from Wilkinsons instead of making my own.
Brothers and sisters

Brothers and sisters

(2)
Includes j'ai, je suis, brothers, sisters, twins, qui s'appelle/nt There is one slide of vocab for them to copy and fill in the blanks - in future i will print out vocab sheets to save time. The last slide is for students to play Guess Who either as a class or in pairs. Make sure they don't just say 'comment t'appelles-tu?' like mine all did.

Taught to my year 8 bottom set. School subjects J'adore, j'aime, je n'aime pas, je déteste Pourquoi Parce Que Reasons The sens ou non sens game on SB - students decide which sentences don't make sense and change them so that they do (the second part of the incorrect sentences can be moved. if the sentence is correct the ending won't move). I also did an activity where students had to write a j'adore etc sentence on their mini whiteboards then read them out to the class, if someone else had the same sentence they had to wipe theirs clean.

Perfect tense SB

A few Smartboard activities to revise the perfect tense. Good for getting the whole class involved. Split class into two groups. The avoir page with the sweet on - I used sweets to explain avoir and each student had to say j'ai un bonbon, tu as un bonbon, il/elle (depending on their neighbour) a un bonbon.

Sheets with regular ar, er and ir verbs conjugated with the English translations. These will need to be cut up and put in envelopes. Put students in groups and give them an envelope. Students then have to match subject pronoun, stem, ending and English translation. -It's also good to print each set off in a different colour so that groups don't get their pieces of paper mixed up. -A good idea (but not my own) for if pieces do go missing - give students a mini whiteboard and they can write down the parts that they think are missing.

I didn't actually make this! (I downloaded it from here and edited it slightly - credit goes to the people who made it originally, they spent a lot more time on it than I did). Spanish 'who wants to the be a millionare?'.

For 'avoir' we only did '-er' verbs! The groupwork doc is to go with the MS VAN DER TRAMP slide - as there are only 'etre' verbs. I have also attached the sheets that I used for the 'etre' game which you will need to cut up. I also printed out the picture on slide 5 for them to stick in their books (I found the picture on the internet). Slide 8 onwards - students write the correct sentence on mini whiteboards (correct answer should appear when you click next).

Who wants to be a millionaire? Powerpoint. This could work well for reviewing sessions and from my experience students love it. I didn't actually make this myself I found it on here and just edited it slightly - they obviously spent a lot more time on it than I did so credit goes to them.

I have also uploaded the Powerpoint to go with it but it wouldn't let me upload them together. Basic lesson plan for a Spanish class.
