David Matthew Baker's Primary Shop

Average Rating4.34
(based on 59 reviews)

I'm currently training as a Primary Teacher so making a wide range of resources using a variety of programmes including ActivInspire and Smart Notebook. My shop also has some of my past resources that I made during my time as a Special Needs Support Assistant. I am also a Cub Scout Leader and have provided some of the resources I have made for this role where I feel that may be of use to others.

Levels of Support Record Sheet

(0)
A record sheet to show the amount of support students need for different tasks. You score the student on the amount of: Verbal Support; Visual Support and Physical Support - with 1 being no support and 5 being lots of support. There is also a column to record how much Independent Work the student did and space to make comments - such as new skills seen, improvements in skills, etc...

The Stages involved in creating a Product

(0)
A sheet that requires students to correctly sequence four of the stages involved in making a product. (Design, Marking Out, Cutting (etc...) and Assembly) They also have to fill in additional details about each of these stages. In this case the product shown in production is a bird house though the stages are the same for any hands on DT that doesn't require specialist equipment.

Annotations Worksheet (Bookends)

(0)
A worksheet that is designed to help teach students how to annotate their research to help them gain higher grades in examinations later in their school lives. This resource was made for the autistic students from the Special School that I work at. It is also designed in a way to encourage the students to have to do some written work and to give them a degree of choice. This resource now contains 3 different differentiations of the 2nd sheet (the page the pupils need to write on).

A series of three sheets to help students start the design process. It includes a template for them to record the design brief on - then moves on to an initial ideas sheet with room to record two ideas. Finally there is a sheet for them to use to carry out an access FM analysis of their prefered idea to help them develop it. This series of worksheets was used by a class in the Special School (Autism) where I work.

Existing Products ACCESS FM Analysis (Mirrors)

(1)
A set of sheets that I made for our Special School (Autism) to help introduce Access FM Analysis to them. They were doing a topic on making MDF frames for mirrors so as a bit of research had them do the analysis of these existing products. There are 8 different designs in this pack. There are short hints to what each word of ACCESS FM means.

MDF Bookends Design Sheet and Prompt Sheet

Here is a sheet that I drew up that contains a 3D template for students to draw their ideas on. It also contains a simplified and topic adjusted version of Erica_C_Hanson's 'How to Annotate' sheet. These resources were used with an Autistic Group of Year 7/8 Students at the Special School I work at. I hope you find them useful.

Assembly Template (incl. Visual Timetable)

(0)
An Assembly Template that I made for one of the teachers at the school I work at. It includes a visual timetable and a couple of songs (no music but I've left the slides with the lyrics in place). This assembly also still includes our central main piece that was on the topic of 'Ordinary People doing Extraordinary Things' - it includes a link to the YouTube video we showed during the assembly.
