I put this document together for my learners to help them to remember the key words used in History OCR SHP B GCSE exams.

I made this spreadsheet for a colleague who was transitioning from teaching a Science ELC at KS4 to teaching a full KS3 curriculum. This contains the NC concepts for the Science Curriculum from the 2014 National Curriculum.

A selection of PPTs and resources covering various literary techniques linked to poetry. Some of the PowerPoints are differentiated with some key words in other languages (using Google translate, so the translations are far from perfect), from when I used to teach classes with a high number of EAL learners with low levels.

This is a walk-through PPT for the Reading section of the Edexcel GCSE Paper from the 2023 Summer series. It covers the whole reading sections and I spent at least three weeks (4 lessons a week) working through the content and getting them to write and improve their responses. I made this to support my learners to work through the reading questions and to identify areas where they don’t spend enough time/focus.

This contains two visual aids I created for my KS2 and lower KS3 learners to help them to remember to use Literacy and DIRT skills within their history lessons. The first sheet is introducing the learners to the three characters I use in future lesson worksheets to encourage them to think about their writing and SPAG skills. The second sheet is a fun visual aid I created to introduce to DIRT and to encourage them to look out for Max in other worksheets where he will be telling them to use DIRT to improve their learning.

This is the first half of my Idiot Abroad Scheme, planned out for KS4 - focusing on the transactional writing aspect of the Pearson Edexcel GCSE for English Language. It includes 28 lessons and takes you through the first three chapters of the book - Egypt, Brazil and India. It has worked well with reluctant learners.

This is the detailed tracker I use for tracking progress in the English Language GCSE for Pearson. It includes a sheet for baseline data from Year 9, Yearly tracking sheets, percentages tracker and Pearson Grade Boundaries sheet - with notional and full grade boundaries for reference in one place.

I made this to support comparing grades in one place. I found a lot of parents still don’t understand the new GCSE numbers or can’t get their head around Pearson steps, so this helps to visual identify how they all fit together. It isn’t perfect but it works for me. This grid includes: GCSE (old and new) Functional Skills, National Curriculum and Pearson Steps. Hope others find it useful.

This collection of worksheets contains basic grammar tasks from sentence types to punctuation. These were produced as part of a bigger unit and to support improving and revising grammar skills in the classroom. Created this for use with Years 7-9, but have also used it with low level learners in an SEMH provision. I usually print the tongue twister slides and allow learners time to practice before inviting them to have a go in front of their peers.
