These minimalist posters of inspirational people include a quote from each of the famous people. We have them as a class display and talk about them a lot in our lessons. We direct children to them when needed, or bring them into discussions when talking about topics such as LGBTQ+ (Alan Turing) The Civil Rights Movement (Dr Martin Luther King Jr, Maya Angelou and Rosa Parks), Feminism and equality (Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Taylor Swift, Frida Kahlo) and perseverance and supporting people when they need it.

Anglo-Saxon and Vikings lesson linked to the National Curriculum for KS2 - the Viking and Anglo-Saxon struggle for the Kingdom of England to the time of Edward the Confessor. This lesson focuses on answering the question, “Did Alfred the Great deserved to be called ‘Great’?” The interactive smart board takes you step by step through the lesson as well as using partner talk and reminding children of key events in the Viking/ Anglo-Saxon struggle. Children will need to look at sources that you could put around the room, or on their tables. They will fill in the grid and answer questions about each source such as, “What is it?” and “What information can we learn from it?” At the end of the lesson the whole class will have a discussion about source bias before deciding whether Alfred the Great was truly Great? Focuses on 2 key historical skills - Understand methods of Historical enquiry and gather Historical data from various sources.

A much shorter story that can be read in 10-15 minutes- with pictures. Or over a course of days broken down into smaller chunks. I made this because A Christmas Carol is a great story to read to children around the Christmas season to reinforce messages about kindess and empathy. There are reading comprehension questions to accompany the story, segmented to align with reading the book a few pages at a time. The questions are a mixture of retrieval, inference and word choice. There are also some worksheets attached to the story I have re-written. There are character analysis of Ebenezer Scrooge and Bob Cratchit, a comparison between Bob Cratchit’s Chirstmas and Scrooge’s Christmas. There’s a table about what each ghost shows Scrooge and what he learns from this. It’s a great week’s worth of lessons for the final week to Christmas, to keep some structure for the children while still letting them enjoy the festive period!

A Top Trumps based card game testing children’s knowledge of fractions of amounts. With 18 different cards featuring different Marvel Avengers heroes and villians, children will use these cards to play a game of Top Trumps. Each card has 3 different categories. Children will take it in turns to chose a category to compete against. For example, if one child chooses intelligence, they will both try to solve the fraction of amount question in that category. The child with the highest number, wins the other child’s card. The ultimate winner is the person who collects all the cards. Children love this game and it’s a great lesson to do once the children have learnt the basics of finding a fraction of an amount. There’s no need for extra prep and it keeps the children engaged throughout.

This lesson gets the children to use their historian skills to firstly determine what the different types of crime and punishment were, by discussing sources. It then get them to evaluate which methods of punishment were the most useful to the anglo-saxons by using a diamond nine. The smart board acts as a lesson plan, using partner talk for discussions, explaining what the different photos were and then it explains what a diamond 9 is and how they can use it.

Knowledge organiser to support the teaching of Vikings and Anglo-Saxons. Includes a timetline, key people, key places and key vocabulary. Great to have on a working wall or display and refer to within lessons, or to stick into children’s books.

Lesson to support KS2 National Curriculum History Viking and Anglo-Saxon struggle for the Kingdom after Edward the Confessor’s death. The smart board begins with a quiz in prior knowledge of Vikings and Anglo-Saxons. The children will then evaluate whether Edward the Confessor was a good king or a bad king by sorting through the different points as a group. This activity is included in the bundle. Finally, the children look at the 4 different claimants to the English thrown. 1 child will be each claimant and read the synopsis provided about that King. The rest of the class use the grid to evaluate which claimant is best suited to the role of King of England. It uses Historical skills such as understanding bias, revising previously taught knowledge and evaluating the different claimants to the thrown.

Includes 2 work sheets for children with EAL or SEN. Children need to match the cut out gingerbread men with the digits on to match to the Gingerbread board that shows the pictorial representations of the numbers. This encourages subitising and supports children in linking the digits to the amount from 1-10. The second sheet focuses on children matching and learning the names of the different shapes. Children will need to cut the shapes out and match them to the named reindeer shapes above. Both worksheets are a great starter activity or full lesson together when combined. Both encourage independent working and are linked specifically to the Standard 4 of the Pre-Key Stage standards.

This is how I 'launch my Titanic theme of work. The blank tickets have a space so you can write their passenger’s names on. The passenger profiles link to someone who was actually on the Titanic when it sank. They include information about the passengers such as how much their ticket cost, what class they traveled in and whether or not they survived the tragedy. The smart board takes you step by step through the lesson. Children will have their tickets with their passenger names on, they will look for the corresponding passenger profiles (I like to dot them around the room) and then will learn about their person. Then, they will sketch their person using the photo on the passenger profiles and share them as a class. This is a lovely lesson to launch a topic or a nice one off art lesson to engage the children in portrait sketching.

I have used this with my class for a few years. The labels all have a picture to show what lesson it is and I usually write the times next to each card on the whiteboard.

I use this alphabet British Sign Language display to support children’s letter formation as it is written in cursive, as well as helping to support an inclusive classroom.

2 downloads in 1. I use these letter and number formations in my class everyday as they can serve as a great reminder for children to support with their writing. We also laminate them and place them on the desk for specific children so they can practice going over the numbers and letters with a white board pen and then clean and use again another day or session. Downloadable as a PDF and I used the standard cursive font. This supports children who write their numbers or letters backwards as well as those who need support with fine-motor skills.

Perfect full lesson game for end of unit or end of term fun. This game tests the column addition skills of the children by getting them to roll a dice and multiply either the attacking number, or the defense number, depending on whose turn it is. Multiplication crosses the tens, and can be up-leveled by adding 2 dice so that the children are multiplying 2-digit by 2-digit numbers. The aim of the game is for the children to see who can cross the pitch board game first. Each player has 15 Match Attax cards and different coloured football pieces. The children will take it in turns to be the ‘attacking’ player. They will roll the dice and multiply the number on the dice by the number for ‘attack’ on their player’s card. The opposite player will then roll their dice and multiply that number by the number for the ‘defense’ on their player’s card. The child with the highest score wins and gets to place their football onto the pitch. The children put their cards to the bottom of the pile and it’s now the other child’s turn to be the ‘attacker’. This is continued until one player has reached the opposition’s side of the pitch. Included in the download are - Powerpoint explaining the rules visually to children, instruction sheet for the children, 30 different Match Attax card images on PDF, the football counters pdf and the board game on an A3 word document. Download, print and laminate for a great lesson. I use this at the end of every half-term and the children love it while still keeping a purposeful working environment.

I made this smart board and corresponding booklet unit of work for my year 4 class last year. I used it again this year and made some adjustments to it as needed. Electricity is such a fun topic for children and this booklet and smart allows them to combine their knowledge of electrical circuits with design elements. There are work sheets included for a whole term as well as a brief smart too. We used it to build their knowledge gradually of circuits, and then how to properly draw a circuit and add buzzers, motors and lights. It all culminated in a final design project where they needed to follow a specification of a house that needed a doorbell, light bulb and a switch! They absolutely loved this and it is also a National Curriculum requirement for this year group.

Great for children in KS1, or for using with children working at the pre-key stage standards. ____________________________________________________________________ I planned these activities to be used with children working at Standard 4, as a way of consolidating number bonds to 5 and supporting them with their subitising skills. ____________________________________________________________________ There are 2 work sheets and 1 card game which can be laminated and reused throughout the year for consolidaiton.

Including things such as metaphors, similes, personification and alliteration, they are a great visual aid to have in the room to remind children what the features are and consolidate their understanding of them.

A5 posters to decorate any classroom, with word classes on them with examples taken from different Harry Potter books. We have these up in my classroom and use them as a tool during lessons, and the children are used to using them as a reminder for the different grammatical elements they will need for writing and for their SPaG tests. Visual learning and reminders are a great way to enhance that sticky knowledge we want our children to have. Having concrete reminders on the wall are a brilliant way to give children ownership of their own learning. Harry Potter is always a fun and engaging way to reach the children too.

My currant class love their peg labels and I will be using them again next year. I like to have a few different characters as I think it’s a fun way to start the first day of the new term! Characters include: Harry Potter, Willy Wonka, Peter Pan, How to Train your dragon, Greg (Diary of a wimpy kid), Alice in Wonderland, Cat in the Hat, Paddington Bear, 1 of the 101 dalmations and fantastic Mr Fox.

I have used this for a few years now and I find it really helpful to organise my workload and keep my PPA time focused so I know what I need to do each week.
