Drama Games Cards

(0)
Drama Games Cards A set of cards with descriptions of 39 different drama games for use in the classroom. This is a handy resource for non-specialists teaching drama, student drama club leaders or just as a visual reminder of your favourite games! Some of the games are classics, some may be new to you. Rules may vary to your own as these are how I know them but you can easily adapt. I have printed out the resource (2 slides per page), laminated them and put them on a keyring for ease of use! The resource includes a PDF version and the original PowerPoint to allow you to add your own favourite games or change the rules to your version!

Devising Theatre Support Cards

Devising Theatre Support Cards Developed to aid students when they are develop their GCSE devised performances however many of the activities would also work well with A Level students. Includes 46 different exercises and rehearsal techniques to help students in the initial stages of devising, during the main rehearsals and in the final stages before a performance. Each card also includes reflection questions to support with student responses when completing their written coursework. I have a number of these card sets printed and laminated on keychains so that each group can select the rehearsal technique appropriate to them in the devising lessons, however you could also have cards printed separately so that you could select the technique for them. I have included the PDF file (ready to print) and the PowerPoint, in case you wish to adapt the wording of a technique or want to add your own rehearsal techniques in also. You may need to change the font on the titles if you use the PowerPoint version as I downloaded this font.

Drama Star of the Week Certificate

Drama Star of the Week Certificate At the end of each KS3 lesson, I give 5-10 minutes to allow my students to nominate their ‘Star of the Week’ - they must give a name and a reason for the nomination. I then choose from the nominations. I give this student a certificate (because who doesn’t love a certificate!) and some house points. I have included the PDF, as well as an editable version on PowerPoint (you will need to download the font to get the title - click on the words and check the font box for the font name). I have also included the slide I include in all my lesson PowerPoints to accompany this part of my lesson. Nothing revolutionary but my favourite part of each lesson :)

'Macbeth' KS3 Drama Scheme of Work

Macbeth KS3 Drama Scheme of Work This is a 7 week Drama scheme of work aimed at Year 9 students. Each lesson contains a performance and design option for students to choose between - created to support students who haven’t opted for GCSE Drama with the aim of giving them an understanding of Macbeth in performance (my students study it for GCSE English). My students had done some work on each of the design elements previously, so I don’t go into detail about how to do these. The scheme covers four short extracts from the play, looking at different characters and with a focus on status, intentions, intepretation or atmosphere in the scene. The last two lessons are based on completing a live theatre review. I have used the National Theatre ‘Macbeth’ from 2017, found on the National Theatre Collection. This resources includes; Workbook (containing most of the resources for the design tasks) PowerPoints for each of the 7 lessons. Resources There is no written scheme of work with this resource. Images from Noun Project are accredited in the Notes section of the PowerPoints.

’The Arrival’ by Shaun Tan KS3 Drama Scheme of Work This is a 6 week Drama scheme of work aimed at Year 8 students although could easily be adapted for any KS3 year group. I have planned for 6 weeks in the scheme but I have also completed it over a 7 week term as well - the assessment task can take an additional lesson. The scheme has a focus on non-verbal communication and physical skills, covering different techniques that help to promote their awareness of these areas. The scheme covers - non-verbal communication, whole class still image, ensemble movement, puppetry, working from a stimulus and use of short script extracts. This resources includes; Scheme of work. Workbook PowerPoints for each of the 6 lessons. Resources The resources does include photos of the parts of the book I used for each lesson, however I would suggest that you try to get a copy of the book yourself as it will support in the teaching of the scheme (and is a beautiful book!). Images from Noun Project are accredited in the Notes section of the PowerPoints.
