Fortune Teller activities, or Cootie Catchers in the US, are a great childhood game remodeled to test mathematical skills. Check out our blog post (link in document) for further information.
In this cootie catcher there are eight questions requiring students to multiply two and three digit numbers, leading to multiplying decimals. The corners of the cootie catcher indicated the differentiation which is to three levels (easy, medium and difficult) and the fourth corner is a “pot luck” section.
This resource comes complete with instructions, ideas for stretch/challenge and two blank versions for challenging pupils to create their own.

This resource includes two foldables covering naming, defining and labelling the parts of the circle needed for 9-1 GCSE Maths. The two foldables included are;
Circle parts 1 (pp. 4-5): This foldable requires students to recognise and name the parts of a circle such as radius, diameter etc.
Circle parts 2 (pp. 6-7): This foldable requires students draw (or highlight/shade) the part of circle named.
This download includes two pdfs; an A4 (UK) size and a letter (US) size, please print from the relevant pdf. Foldables can be used as a revision or summary exercise at the end of a topic. As the answers are hidden pupils can use these to ‘test’ themselves or ask someone else such as a parent to test them.

Heat Maps can be displayed or printed for each pair of pupils. Each heat map increases in difficulty indicated by the hotness, the redder/hotter the more difficult the question. Pupils choose a cell to start at and perform the given operation with the corresponding element of the question from the x and y axis.
This heat map requires pupils to add together the fractions that correspond to their chosen cell. This resource is also available in the Heat Map Bundle, check it out!

Coordinate Geometry Revision Foldable
Foldables can be used as a revision or summary exercise at the end of a topic. As the answers are hidden pupils can use these to ‘test’ themselves or ask someone else such as a parent to test them.
This purchase includes three foldables on the topics of Coordinate Geometry, as seen in the ALevel Mathematics. The three foldables are;
Coordinate Geometry ; This requires students to recall the formula using the notation A:(𝑥_1, 𝑦_1) B:(𝑥_2, 𝑦_2)
Coordinate Geometry 2; This requires recall of the formula and application to the points A:(0, 4) B:(9, 20) and line with gradient -3.
Coordinate Geometry 3 (Circles): This requires students to recall the formula for circles and circle theorems required in coordinate geometry.
You have the option to print back to back providing guidelines on the inside for pupils, as seen on the cover photo. Alternatively just print single sided. In this download you will get an A4 size (UK buyers) and a letter size suitable for US buyers, please ensure you print from the one suitable to you and select fit when printing.
This set of foldables is also available as part of the foldable bundle. Check it out in the NumberLoving Shop!

This Treasure Hunt activity has been prepared to practice skills of rounding, as needed in many GCSE questions, rounding up to significant figures. There are three treasure hunts of increasing difficulty, with red the easiest and suitable for those entry level/Foundation covering rounding to the nearest 10, 100 etc. The amber level is suitable for GCSE students and covers rounding to given decimal places as well as nearest km, m, cm and therefore pupils are required to know their metric conversions. The green level covers rounding to a given number of significant figures.
Treasure Hunts promote cooperative learning and engagement by pupils working in pairs to find the correct answer. It can be used as the main lesson activity to determine what learning has taken place and also it is a great revision exercise. Check out our NumberLoving on the different ways Treasure Hunt cards can be used.

Prompt sheets can be used to either determine pupils’ prior knowledge at the start of a new topic or alternatively they can be used as a guided review/revision activity.
This prompt sheet covers the topics of constructions using compass and a protractor. Pupils should use the vocabulary bank to label the pictures, identifying the steps involved in each construction.
Prompt sheet bundle is available, check it out!

The Learning Grid activity helps to link in literacy by encouraging pupils to communicate and articulate their knowledge by connecting two different elements of a topic. Each learning grid comes complete with instructions on how to use and ideas for support and stretch.
This learning grid requires pupils to either state the given properties of the 2D shape connecting the two coordinate grids, or to define the property of 2D shapes. This resource is available as part of the Learning Grid Bundle, check it out.
