This lesson, originally developed as part of a scheme of work around the 2019/2020 Australian Bushfires focuses on the impacts of the fires. Within the lesson pupils are expected to recall information relating to the causes of wildfires, before then embarking on a Geographical Enquiry (research led) activity to determine the most severe impacts of the fires. Within this lesson pupils will be expected to describe the location of Australia, the states and territories of Australia, the population, life expectancy and literacy rates and the weather experienced in Australia, subsequently allowing for a complete understanding to be developed. *The full scheme of five lessons and scheme of work on the Australian Bushfires is also available.
