I designed this 12-page A4 workbook of exam-style questions to help my students consolidate the Biological Molecules topic. Written with the AQA specification in mind, but suitable for other exam boards. Covers all the key content for Section 1 of the AQA A-level Biology specification. I tend to give this to students to guide their revision, but it would also be a really useful activity for cover lessons. A fully completed version of the workbook with model answers is included.

I designed these sheets for my own students to encourage specific revision of the practicals and have seen a great improvement in practical knowledge and the ability to answer practical-based questions. Each sheet includes key information, an example method (where relevant) and most importantly, exam-style questions and model answers. The model answers for the exam-style questions have been written based on previous mark schemes, but I cannot guarantee that future mark schemes will be exactly the same. Serial dilution / dilution series calculation worksheet for A-level Biology. Part of a growing bundle of worksheets aimed at improving maths skill confidence for A-level Biologists. 21 marks of AS/A2 exam style serial dilution / dilution series questions. Full mark scheme and serial dilution explanation/method with worked example included. Of particular relevance to AQA required practicals 3 and 6. However, the questions are not exam board specific and would be useful to any practical involving serial dilutions. Percentage change and Hardy-Weinberg calculation worksheets also available.

Epigenetics A-level summary worksheet covering the epigenetic mechanisms of methylation and acetylation. Suitable for any exam board which covers the epigenetics topic. Includes differentiated versions - one scaffolded ‘fill in the word’ style worksheet for less confident students and a less scaffolded version for more confident students. Also includes an answer sheet (which could be used as a handout). Designed for colour to be added by each individual student, to aid the formation of visual memories. Condensed revision notes for Section 1 Biological Molecules of the AQA A-level Biology specification. Blurting is one of the best revison techniques for A-level Biology. Students should write down everything they can remember about a particular topic on a scrap piece of paper. Then use their notes to fill in any missed points. However, blurting is only going to be effective if students are using notes with the correct content & key terms to check the information that they’ve written down from memory. I designed these sheets for my own students to use. They divide the specification into A4 page topics, each of which is the right length to be covered in one ‘blurting’ session.
