This spelling list follows the New National Curriculum and shows the lists of words that Year 2 children need to know by the end of the year. We have split them into Autumn, Spring and Summer as spelling focus points for each term.
Here is Year 2 Maths planning that focuses on addition on a number line. This unit of work is the first week of addition and is week 3 in the Autumn term schedule of work I have used. Week 1-2 (Place Value and Number) and Week 3 (Addition).

This Year 5 English planning focuses on 'Letter Writing'. This unit explores the format and design of an informal/formal letter, exposes the children to the language used in letter writing and finally scaffolds the learning to allow the children to write their own letter.
This Year 2 unit of work focuses on Samuel Pepys Dairy that he kept to record the events of the Great Fire of London. This weeks worth of planning timetables: Mon - SPaG lesson (verbs), Tues - Freeze frame/snap shots of scenes described in the diary, Wed - Identifying features of a Diary entry using Samuel Pepys as an example, Thur - Planning own diary entry of the first two days of the fire breaking out and Fri - The Big Write of their own diary entry.
The resources included: Lesson plans, verbs worksheets, Samuel Pepys Diary (PowerPoint presentation), diary writing questions and a diary features checklist.
This planning could always be adapted for the use in other year groups.

This Year 2 lesson pack looks into 'forces', 'materials' and is cross-curricular with Design and Technology. The children will learn about forces (in particular air resistance) and learn about the force that the ground exerts that causes the egg to break. The children then need to design and wrap the egg in a protective packaging to see which materials are better at doing so.
