English Language Paper 2 Question 5 AQA
This is a complete unit of work based on English Language Paper 2 Question 5 for AQA. It hits on relevant and controversial topics such as national lock downs, mental health and the effects that Covid 19 has had on education and the economy. The students find it very engaging as these are topics they can form strong opinions on and discuss in detail.
There are 6-10 lessons (depending on pace), each with its own power point and all resources. The unit slowly builds on the writing skills needed: persuasive writing, using and spelling ambitious vocabulary, structuring writing and punctuation. The spelling booklet coincides with the sample answers and are integrated in to the lessons so that students can use them directly in their work.
This unit includes:
Power points
Resources
Multiple sample answers
Planning sheets
Marking proformas
Feedback lessons that can be adapted
A spelling booklet
Mark schemes
A break down of Assessment Objectives
My year 10s are really enjoying this unit and I’m really enjoying teaching it! I hope you do too.
