This Distance Learning Home Packet resource includes a weekly calendar with suggested activities and accompanying activity pages for parents to do with children at home. Included are the weekly calendar with suggested activities, a blank weekly calendar for parents to write their own activities, “My family is special because…” writing prompt with plenty of room to draw, oil and water lava lamp science experiment, dancing rice science experiment, rain clouds in a jar science experiment, cinnamon germs hand washing experiment, directions for crafting a microphone, and random letters and numbers 1-10 for letter and number search. Letter and number search is appropriate for Pre-K and K. The rest of the activities should work well with any early elementary age child as well. Parents should print out the writing prompt and letter and number search, but the rest of the pages do not need to be printed if parents do not want to do so. Teachers, you may email this packet with your parents, or share it with them via Google Drive. This particular version is PDF version, but I give permission for this resource to be shared with parents only, and to be used in whichever way is most helpful to you; feel free to save on your Google Drive if you wish. This resource has 19 usable pages of activities for parents.

This booklet is filled with cute, baby animal pictures. It is informative; it contains the name of each baby animal, and it also contains sight word sentences. Your students will enjoy reading along with you and learning baby animal names. I hope you find Baby Animal Book UK Version to be a helpful, interactive read along booklet. To prep, fold the pages in half, cut the pages into two parts; trim. Next, staple the corner of the pages. When putting the book together, the page with words goes first, and the page with the picture that matches the word goes next. After the books are prepped, give the books to the children, and read along with them. The booklet includes the sight words I, see, the. You may allow the children to circle the sight words as they read along with you. As an alternative, you may allow children to use the code provided to help them mark the sight words. The booklet also includes UK spelling of the word favourite. There is a “My favourite baby animal is___.” page. Ask the children what their favourite baby animal is; write their answer on the line. Older children may be able to write their answer without help. Also included is a “My drawing page.” Let the children draw their own animal pictures. Ten pages of book pages.

This Valentine’s Day Maths packet includes Valentine cupcake roll a number, four number line puzzles, and Valentine’s Day chocolate kisses memory matching game. These are perfect play based learning activities to add to your Valentine’s Day themed math center. Children will learn number recognition, learn colour recognition, and practice fine motor skills. For Valentine’s cupcake roll a number, make a copy for each student. You may laminate to use again if you wish. Allow children to roll dice. Allow children to count the dots on their dice. Allow children to decorate their Valentine cupcake with candies. They may use real candies such as conversation hearts, or they may use foam stickers or mini erasers to decorate. Encourage the children to put the same number of candies on their cupcake as the number that they rolled. Valentine’s Day number line puzzles come in Valentine owls and Valentine teddy bear. Both owl and teddy bear puzzles come with numbers 1 to 10 and numbers 11 to 20. Laminate the puzzles. Cut the puzzles down the lines. Place whichever puzzle you wish to use in your maths station. Allow children to put the puzzle together by lining up the numbers in correct numerical order. For Valentine’s Day chocolate kisses memory matching game, allow children to match the chocolate kisses by color. Make two copies of each chocolate kiss card. Laminate and cut out the cards. The chocolate kisses come in blue, green, orange, yellow, pink, purple, red, grey, and white. Encourage children to make matches by finding kisses that are the same colour. This resource has eight pages worth of activities. Most of the cards and puzzles are two to a page.

Valentine’s Day Post Office Dramatic Play Props contains various props to add to your dramatic play area. They are Valentine hearts post office themed props. Included are various signs, labels, employee badge, checklist, postcards, and envelopes. Stock your dramatic play area with dress up clothes and accessories; have postal worker clothes and accessories if possible. Add various sizes of boxes for sorting. Add papers, postcards, envelops, writing utensils, stamps, and stickers either in your dramatic play area, or place your writing center close to the dramatic play area. Add a cash register and play money to the dramatic play area. Allow children to help create a mailbox to add to the area. I have included directions on how to create a mailbox. Laminate the signs, and add them wherever they fit in your dramatic play area. Laminate the labels, checklists, postcards, and envelopes; add to the dramatic play area. Allow children to write on the checklist, postcards, and envelopes with dry erase markers. Have extra non laminated postcards and envelopes for children to write, stamp, and decorate with stickers. There are two hours signs. One has hours listed; the other has no hours listed. The children can make their own marks on the blank hour signs. Allow students to progress from letter recognition, to pre-writing skills, to writing letters. Black and white options are available in this resource if you choose to use an ink saving option. This resource also comes with Australian animals book suggestions. For pre-writing papers, choose which papers you want the students to use; place papers in your writing station (center). There is a blank paper with graphics only also. Place writing utensils. Allow children to trace the various marks. Allow children to use the blank paper to make their own pre-writing marks. This is good for fine motor as well as pre-writing practice. For do-a-dot letters, pick which papers you want to use. Place the papers in your literacy station (center). Place washable markers alongside the papers. Allow children to do the letters with the markers. Encourage children to say the name of the letters aloud. Each paper includes a realistic graphic of an Australian animal and the beginning letter. This activity also helps with fine motor skills in addition to letter recognition. This Holiday packet comes with Holiday name practice sheets and Holiday writing prompts. The Holiday name practice comes in both colourful and black and white versions. The name practice sheets also comes with the option of reindeer graphics or snowman holiday cupcake graphics. For Holiday name practice, write children’s names on the ribbon strip. Next, let children build their names with magnet letters. Let children stamp their names with letter stamps. Finally, let children write their names; they may use crayons, markers, or pencils. The writing prompts come in several options. The options are “For the Holidays, I”, “For Christmas,I”, “For Hanukkah, I”, and “For Kwanzaa, I.” Choose the papers that best suit your students. Give a paper to each student, and ask each student to complete the sentence. The papers come with space to draw pictures. You can choose a paper that has three lines or only two lines with more drawing space. When the children complete the phrase, write the sentence on their papers. If older children want to write some words themselves, help them do so. Allow children to draw pictures that go along with their sentences on their writing papers. This December Holiday packet includes literacy and maths activities for celebrating various holidays. There are Christmas graphics; there are also graphics that will work for any December Holiday celebration; there are graphics like gifts and holiday cupcakes. The packet includes Holiday pre-writing practice, Holiday do-a-dot letters. Holiday 1 to 1 correspondence counting cards, and Holiday roll a number card. Print and cut all the cards out along the borders. For Holiday pre-writing cards, the cards come in different sizes with variations of pre-writing marks. There are also blank cards with graphics only. Place whichever cards you choose in your literacy station along with writing utensils. Allow children to trace the various marks. Allow children to use the blank cards to make their own pre-writing marks. This is good for fine motor as well as pre-writing practice. For Holiday do-a-dot letters, pick which cards you want to use. Place the cards in your literacy station. Place washable dot markers in your literacy center. Allow children to dot the letters with the markers. Encourage children to say the name of the letters aloud. This also helps with fine motor skills in addition to letter recognition. For Holiday 1 to 1 correspondence, the cards have numbers and number words. The cards also have a unicorn and a number of cupcakes that match the number on the card. Place the cards in your maths station. Give the children foam stickers that can represent candy. The stickers can be candy stickers, or they can just be glittery circle stickers. Tell the children that they need to decorate the unicorn’s Holiday cupcake with candies. Allow the children to stick one sticker on each cupcake on the card. Encourage the children to touch the foam stickers then count each number to figure out the end number. For Holiday roll a number, place this card in your maths station. Allow the children to roll dice. Allow children to count the dots on the dice that they rolled. Allow children decorate the Holiday cupcake with candies. Allow children to place the correct amount of foam stickers on the Holiday cupcake. Example: If a four is rolled, four stickers should be placed on the cupcake.
