A very comprehensive set of resources to study the topic of festivals in Spain. The presentation (25 slides) includes reading and writing activities, two role plays, six photo cards and two translations (Spanish into English and English into Spanish). The set also includes 6 worksheets that complement the presentation. Finally, there is a grammar activity that focuses on the use of impersonal verbs (“se” + he/she form of the verb) and the conditional. The booklet includes: - a summary of the requirements of the paper - the assessment objectives and mark scheme - two initial activities to "get the students thinking" (27 questions about key aspects of the film, and a variety quotations from the play for the students to discuss) - the four essay questions from the AQA sample materials - a further 16 essay questions (some of them adapted from past exam questions from the outgoing specification), covering a wide range of aspects, to provide the students with plenty of practice opportunities - four pages of useful language to write an essay - a self-assessment check-list for the students to use to reflect on their own work.

A 37-page booklet to help prepare Spanish A Level students for Paper 3 (speaking test). The booklet covers the four themes and twelve sub-themes studied in the two-year course, as well as guidelines on how to approach the Individual research project. It also includes a student-friendly overview of the new specification, an explanation of the requirements of Paper 3, the assessment objectives and the mark scheme for both part one (discussion if a sub-theme) and part two (presentation and discussion of the individual research project) of the paper. Each sub-theme in part one is illustrated with one of the sample photo cards from AQA, followed by a list of 20 to 30 questions that the students could be expected to be able to answer when discussing the sub-theme. There are 285 questions altogether, providing the students with opportunities to study each sub-theme in quite a lot of detail (and the teachers with plenty of homework opportunities!) The booklet also explains what the individual research project consists of, what the teacher’s role is and suggested titles. Finally, the booklet also contain three pages of useful language for the test. UPDATE (13/06/19) - I have updated the booklet to get rid of the more “general” questions and focus it more on Spanish speaking countries.

A very comprehensive set of resources to study the topic of the weather in Spanish. Suitable for students of all levels, the presentation starts with simple vocabulary activities and little games (Simon says, Battleship, human dominoes) and it builds up from there (weather forecasts, leisure activities in different kinds of weather). It also includes a range of reading activities to do with the weather and the climate in Spain. Additionally I have included several reading and writing activities about Spanish geography to provide the students with a better understanding of Spanish geographical features (and at the end of the topic they will even believe you when you say that it does indeed snow in Spain; quite a lot, actually!)

End of term quiz for Spanish younger students. It consists of 10 rounds (90 questions altogether). Each slide of the presentation contains one question and some visual clues to help students answer. The quiz is based mainly on general knowledge of Spain and Spanish culture, although some test the students’ knowledge of Spanish. 34 of the questions are based on a short video or music clip, which opens when the count-down animated icon is clicked. They can also be downloaded an played manually if the links don’t work. The ten rounds are Music, Art, Sports, Maths, Geography, TV, Food and Drink, People, I love Spanish and A Bit of Everything. I have also included the answers to the questions and an answer sheet. Update: I have now included a PowerPoint version of the main file, converted from the original Notebook file. I recommend whenever possible to use the original version, as the file conversion has changed the layout of some slides and some features work less effectively on Power Point.

An overview of the two years of the new Spanish A Level course and a lesson-by-lesson Scheme of learning for the new Spanish AS / A Level Year 1 (based on the AQA specification). The overviews include a summary of what topics, grammar points and exam skills should be covered during each half term of the two year course, as well as guidance on the kind of Key Marked Pieces (assessment tasks) that should be completed each half term in order to provide the students with practice of all aspects of Papers 1, 2 and 3. Additionally, I have included a lesson-by-lesson Scheme Of Learning for Year 1 (AS). Based on the Hodder book / online resources, and working on the basis that students get four hours of teaching a week (Teacher 1 and Teacher 2) and one hour of independent learning (ILC session).
