Model lots of complex perfect tense language in this trapdoor activity. I like to start of by drilling these 8 expressions based on the verb ‘dire’. They help develop pupils fluency and authenticity as well as addressing many of the examination board requirements.

Conti Style No Snakes No Ladders on the topic of Yr 7 French hobbies. Pupils play in groups of three. One person has the referee’s answer sheet and has to judge the quality of the players’ translations. If it is wrong the referee says what it should be so that they know for next time and sends them back to the beginning. Written around Studio 1 Module 3
