This is resource contains an exercise that gets the children to practice using a ruler; as well as a presentation on converting units of measure. The worksheet asks students to measure the lines with their rulers. They then must convert from cm to mm. As an extension at the end, they are required to draw their own lines based on a length given in centimetres. The presentation goes through how to convert from mm to cm, and from cm to m. There are exercised along the way to get the children practicing. This lesson is suited for a Year 4 class or could be used for revision with Year 5. The answers to the lengths are also included.

The presentation explains what a suffix is and also explains what -ful and -less means when used as suffixes. There are differentiated activities included in the presentation. Activities include, matching the word to the meaning, dictionary work and writing sentences. Two of the activity sheets are “complete the sentence” activities with 10 sentences on each sheet. The last activity is an assessment of the suffixes -ful and -less and requires children to find a suitable word for the meaning given and the next exercise students must choose the correct sentence to complete the word in the sentence. This is a fun filled resource that will have your class excited to do math! The Easter Bunny has been kidnapped! Without him who will deliver the Easter Eggs? Your students must solve the math questions in order to find clues to who committed the crime. All answers are included for teachers. There are 5 pages of clues. Clue 1 - Equivalent Fractions Clue 2 - Place Value Clue 3 - Addition and subtraction Clue 4 - Multiplication Clue 5 - Division Once students have solved the math mystery, they are given a writing exercise. There are two options. They can either write a newspaper article about the arrest of the kidnapper; or write a story outlining how they caught the kidnapper! Finally, a certificate is included for all those who solve the mystery.

This is a presentation using the angle family; Mr Obtuse, Mrs. Right, Baby Acute and Reflex Rex! It is a fun way to help students remember the different types of angles. The last slide contains a quick review of what they learned. The worksheet contains 6 different angles. The children must first name the angles. Then, estimate their size and finally measure them using a protractor. I would recommend using these resources with Year 4 or Year 5.

What better way to practice times tables than with a game of BINGO! This resource helps students practice the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. The bingo cards are 4 squares X 4 squares with one free space in each. The cards are saved as a PDF with two cards per page. There are enough cards for 30 students to play. There is also a checklist for teachers so you know which numbers you have already called. I recommend that the cards are printed, cut and laminated so they can be used multiple times. Students can use a board marker on the lamination film.

This is an Ancient Egyptian themed math murder mystery. Tutankhamen has been murdered! Students must solve the questions in the 3 rounds to receive clues from their teacher. There are 3 rounds of questions covering -Addition -Subtraction -Multiplication -Division. The questions are geared to a Grade 3/4 (Year 4/5) class. The children are given clues written in hieroglyphics which they must decode in order to find our who the murder was, where the murder took place and what the murder used. The PDF contains all resources needed as well as the answers to all 34 questions. My class absolutely loved doing this and I hope your class will too!

They also must begin to think about different animals and plants that live in the various habitats. At the end of this lesson I always give students a large piece of paper and in groups they much draw pictures depicting the habitat. This then is used as the backing paper for my display.

Each worksheet has stars on the bottom left side of the page to indicate the level of difficulty. There are 3 levels of difficulty, with the most challenging set having 3 stars. It gives the opportunity for students to brainstorm words that contain the prefix il- before directing them via QR code to Quizlet to practice words with beginning with il-. If you are not familiar with Quizlet is allows the children to practice the words interactively on flashcards, test if they can spell the words correctly by playing the game Gravity and also allows them to match the meaning to the word. It is an excellent website which the class always.
