A summary sheet for students to help them to revise for the core practicals in the Edexcel B A level biology course. The sheet provides independent, dependent variables (where relevant), controls, equipment list, summary method and key evaluation points for each practical to enable students to review the practicals that they have completed. The version that I have written for the previous Edexcel biology A level course have been quite successful and popular with students to support revision. The sheet can be teamed with some practice practical questions. please do leave a review if you purchase as anything to help to improve this resource would be appreciated.

Dr John Snow and cholera

A task to get students to re-enact (sort of!) what Dr John Snow did in terms of identifying the causes of an outbreak of cholera in london. \n\nfinding the real cause - story of Snow\n\nfinding the real cause graph - a gridded version of the map of London where Snow did his work\n\nfinding the real cause graph data - points to plot on the graph showing the water pumps and the cases (fictional) of cholera\n\nstudents then have to assess their graph and decide what it tells them and then what they shoudl do next

PROTEIN SYNTHESIS ANALOGY

ISA prep help sheet

I have used this sheet only with a practice ISA to help students to learn how to research their topic. It can be edited for whichever hypothesis you want and we got the students to use this in the computer room to research their ISA planning sheet. They then use the full information to write their ISA notes sheet. \nThis also means that they can keep this sheet for revision to revise from before their tests and to help them to remember what their notes sheet means. For the real thing, they will create their own.

food test remember sheet for low ability

this has 3 levels of difficulty, the first with a word bank and starting letters, the second with just the word bank and the third with no clues. This is a good summary challenge after doing food tests.
