Children often struggle to identify verbs in sentences especially when the verb consists of more than one word. This powerpoint looks at: verbs in their simplest forms - eg. I have a brother verbs that might not really look like verbs because they do not seem very active - eg. he is in the bathroom verbs that are made up of more than one word and an explanation of the terms** auxiliary verb** and** main verb** It is interactive and you can ask the children to answer questions individually or to work in pairs on longer more creative activities.

Suitable for beginners in German: KS2 and KS3 in particular. Powerpoint 1 introduces new vocabulary through images, with and without vocabulary. Powerpoint 2 practises making sentences about weather in different countries: eg, Es ist kalt in Italien. Worksheet 1 requires pupils to write weather phrases either from memory or by choosing the correct phrase. Worksheet 2 is a map which practises weather phrases and locations in Germany.
