This is a starter for Computing Teachers teaching Linked Lists. It is based on a Find Someone who and enables you to do a wonderful unplugged activity.

There is a lot of jargon on how we connect to the Internet and this fully animated presentation shows you exactly how we connect to the Internet as a story. By making a story this is now suitable for students from Key Stage 2 - 5 and brings all the jargon together in a meaningful way. (Highly recommended for teaching iGCSE Internet technologies). The words have been minimized to make more accessible for students with limited vocabulary.

This Google Docs extension gives you the tools to really help EAL students and any student with a smaller vocabulary. The tools include: Low Frequency Word Highlighter - See which words are likely to be difficult Difficulty Guide (Pictured left) - This tool analyses the text in your doc and gives you a guide to reading time, difficulty and sentence complexity Low Frequency Table - This will add a table of low frequency words to your doc to enable you to add notes and for students to look them up in the dictionary. This is a simple Diamond 9 Template that enables you to either print Diamond 9 or use it directly in your presentation software. Diamond 9s are a great thinking tool to prioritize or decide the importance of key factors.

This lesson was originally taught in a customer services unit, but would be great to prepare students for work experience or as part of any vocational course.
