A lesson which can easily be adapted for both KS3 and KS4. A range of story openings included which then allows pupils to see that there are several ways in which to begin a story in a more interesting way. Pupils are then tasked with creating their own opening using a ideas sheet included as well. Very simple and easy to follow.

TWO LESSONS. A lesson which focuses on Section B of the WJEC / Eduqas GCSE spec. Pupils are asked to identify moments Macduff is in the play and then answer some challenging questions on him. A plan is also provided for teacher reference of all the key moments Macduff comes up in the play. The second lesson focuses on how to write a response about the character of Macduff. A full essay is included which covers Act 2-5. Designed for mid to high ability Year 11s.

A lesson zooming in on the language Titania uses during her argument with Oberon over the changeling boy. My class examined her use of pathetic fallacy and the links to relationships. Pass the quotation task, exam style question and example homework included.

Two lessons. First lesson focuses on understanding the poem and the students asking their own questions about the poem to which their partner can answer. Second lesson is differentiated and has 3 different tasks, catering to different abilities within the class.

Ideal for foundation (Year 7 and 8). A newspaper report based around the concept of Miranda and Prospero going missing. Full plan of how to gather the ideas based around the report on the Powerpoint and a model response included.

A revision lesson ideal for Year 10 or 11 pupils. A range of key scenes that the Friar is included in, alongside a range of quotations to go with this. It is all in chronological order as well. Pupils are tasked with analysing the Friar Lawrence as a character, based on the scenes and quotations provided.

This lesson enables KS4 pupils to successfully track Scrooge’s transformation from Stave 1 to Stave 5. They have to recall which stave each quotation was said in, link the quotations to specific and relevant context and then use the sentence starters and example essay to help them write their own. Perfect for a mixed ability group or for any class who need to focus on revision based tasks ready for GCSE.

A revision lesson perfect for KS4. Focuses on every key moment Fred and Fan are mentioned to allow pupils to focus on why Scrooge’s family play a key role in his life and development as a character.

A lesson which worked extremely well with a high ability year 9 class, who were focusing on the fiction section of the Eduqas exam. Can be easily adapted to suit different abilities. The lesson focuses on the pupils understanding the term 'unreliable narrator' and then reading key extracts taken from 'The Girl on the Train', 'The Yellow Wallpaper' and 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time'. The pupils had to choose which extract they wanted to read and identify in what way the narrator was unreliable. Great discussion came from this. They then had to imagine they were watching the unreliable narrator and create a descriptive writing piece focused on this. Examples included in the PowerPoint. My pupils ended up asking me if they could have copies of the books as they wanted to read more!

A lesson which looks at developing an understanding of the poem in a deeper way. Lot of higher level questions, an example response and a handy peer-assessment key included. Colourful and engaging. Can easily be used to aid the Eduqas Poetry Anthology specification or for any War Poetry Modules.

A lesson which focuses on the difficult concept of a 'Play within a Play' and how the Mechanicals aren't the best actors etc. Lesson caters to both analysis and creativity and could go into two lessons if you want it to.

A lesson which aims to challenge pupils to think independently through using Blooms Taxonomy to challenge. Pupils will use Blooms to create their own levels of questioning.

A descriptive writing lesson which focuses on the pupils imagining they are a soldier in WW1. Starter focuses on improving vocabulary through looking up what key words mean, then a short clip which allows the pupils to put themselves in the shoes of a soldier before they then begin to write their piece of work. High ability example included for inspiration for them.

A handy, colourful booklet created to ensure pupils have something easy to revise from. They were asked to find key quotations for character/theme. Can be done each lesson whilst studying the novel or be given to them to do independently.

An engaging, fun and creative lesson for year 7 but can be easily adapted for all ages. Pirate map, pirate music, drawing, sharing, peer and self-assessing all within the PowerPoint.
