These are two worksheets that allow students to record and understand the different types of feedback and guidance. These are fully adaptable if required. Ideally they are to be used in a practical lesson where students record visual and verbal guidance along with different types of feedback when performing different tasks (some of which work best when blindfolded). An engaging way of teaching Sports Psychology.
This is new for the latest 2016 OCR GCSE PE specification. It is a pack of nine A4 sheets, split into twelve different areas of the specification, containing a total of 95 different key words or phrases and their meanings. Each section is colour coded and titled with the area of the spec it is related to. This makes it far easier for students to find and learn the key words from certain topics, than trying to use an overall glossary. Each key word has a space where students can tick (or cross) depending on whether they feel they know the meaning. These are good to use as revision cards and also to for the students to have these in their folders/books at the start of each area of the spec.
These are two work sheets that are specifically for the new GCSE OCR specification. These are to be used with section 2.2 Psychology, (characteristics of skillful movement and classification of skills).
The tasks allow students to demonstrate their understanding of
Efficiency
Pre-determined
Co-ordinated
Fluent
Aesthetic
Simple and complex skills
Open & closed skills

A simple tick is put in the relevant column, allowing the student/teacher to easily see where they need to focus any intervention.

A power point containing 16 different slides, each with a SMSC starter discussion activity. These are all focused on sport and are a great to have on display at the start of a PE lesson (possibly as the students are getting changed). They would also fit nicely in a PSHCE unit of work. Each one encourages students to give their opinion on a SMSC topic. A great way of working SMSC into your lesson and to started group discussions with students.
This resource is suitable for all three GCSE exam boards and for both the old and new specifications. It consists of six QR codes that the students scan using a QR scanner, which takes them directly to six videos showing slow motion footage of the following activities:
Jump shot in basketball
A shot in football
The set in volleyball
A hurdler
The high jump
A Back somersault
Students then study the footage and record down two muscles that they think are in action, and then they have to describe what movement is occurring at a joint as the muscle contracts.
This is an enjoyable task for students. It comprises of 7 cards, each with a different person on. Working in pairs/groups, students have to identify any positive or negative factors that may affect participation for the person on each card.
