A collection of resources based around Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Sign Of Four. The resource is designed to aid students in creating an extended response to the question; How does Conan Doyle present the relationship between Holmes and Watson? This includes a relevant learning objective, a Frayer Model discussing the word relationship, a mind-map to create adjectives to describe Holmes and Watson’s relationship and three key quotes showcasing their relationship. Differentiation is provided in the form of key sentence starters for the extended response. This is designed for mixed-ability and lower-ability KS4 in preparation for the AQA Literature exams.

A resource based on chapter 4 (So What Do You Say?) from the novel Stormbreaker. The lesson is part of a reading scheme and contains; a key word wordsearch used as a settling activity, a Frayer model examining the word “relief", discussion questions on the chapter title and relevant comprehension questions for the chapter.
