They learn why cereal bars are not as healthy. They look at food labels to compare nutritional benefits and allergy advise. They follow a basic no bake/ no nuts recipe for making 2 different types of cereal bars, compare them and find out which one everyone liked best using a tally chart. Children then design their own cereal bars creating a new recipe, illustrate how their cereal bars will look and taste, list ingredients and equipment, write in which order they will work using the recipe template, and record their evaluation.
