This is a collection of my speaking board games which are ideal for independent work. They can be used for any language. They are ideal for GCSE role play revision, but can also be excellent preparation for the listening and reading examinations. There are some ideas on how to use the boards. You may like to give pupils dice and some counters, but you can also play with them when the board is projected on your whiteboards (to save printing costs).

After watching the video a few times, pupils can try to piece together the short (but fast) dialogue by speed dating around the room (and thereby practising it many times with different people)

This is a complete list of all of the essay titles. Split by topic and there is a second document with a list of suggested content points (taken from the exam reports). My students found it very useful.

A worked example of ideas in response to a stimulus card on tattoos and physical appearance. I used it for revision on how to prepare answers for the speaking examination. Can be used as a brainstorm of ideas.

This is a bingo game that can be used during speaking sessions with senior year students. The idea is to cross off as many boxes as possible by using the phrases/tenses/specific vocabulary correctly. It encourages students to think about their range of language whilst they debate. It can be adapted for all ranges and to suit all topics.
