As the title suggests, this is a colouring sheet for practising questions that include powers and roots. Unlike other maths colouring sheets, each sheet only requires three different colours and therefore requires fewer teacher supplies. Students solve the answers to the questions and colour based on their solution. This then creates a pattern which looks great on a classroom wall. The solution is the pattern displayed. 12 cards for students to cut up, solve and then place cards in ascending order of solutions. Just a slightly different way to get students to look at revision. A range of grades to allow access for all from beginning. When I use this with my class, I get students to work in pairs. I also give them paper to stick the cards on once order is complete and get them to write their working around the outside. I have found students to be much more engaged than if they were just given a page of questions. The 12 included topics are: Solving linear equations x's on both sides,fractions with negative fractional powers, Pythagoras' theorem, finding area of a triangle (using 1/2 absinC), median of a box plot, HCF, Percentage loss, standard form, area of a sector, circle theorems, mean of grouped data and range from stem and leaf diagram. Most of the included topics are around the higher/foundation borderline.

A cross number sheet to aid revision with foundation topics. Topics include: expanding brackets, solving equations, percentage increase and decrease, finding angles, area of a circle, multiplying decimals, ratio, fractions to decimals and fractions of amounts. Although this was created for GCSE revision, this could be used by many younger year groups also. The solutions can be found on the second page.

Two cross numbers, some overlap questions but the second one is much harder than the first. Topics include: fractions of amounts, converting fractions to decimals, calculating with money, highest common factor, percentage reduction, dividing with decimals, least common multiples, ratios, roots, speed distance time, rounding, percentage increase, and the harder sheet also contains standard form, surds, compound interest and harder versions of some of the other topics.

This resource can either be cut up into worksheets to stick into pupils books or they can be laminated to use as show me boards. It contains two dartboards with a variety of substitution questions. The values to be substituted in have been left blank for the teacher to decide. This allows for difficulty to be determined against the ability of the group e.g. positive, negative and fractional/decimal numbers. If laminated, the sheets can be printed back to back and then students can write their answers in with whiteboard pens and then rub off and try with more challenging numbers. This creates a very visual afl activity.

Two solutions do not fit the pattern and students are encouraged to find their own questions that will fit the pattern allowing for stretch and challenge. The solution is the pattern displayed. This is a colouring sheet to get students to begin to recognise square numbers, cube numbers and prime numbers working around grades 3 and 4 of the new 1-9 mathematics GCSE. Students colour based on whether the number in each box is a square number, a cube number or a prime number. The sheet requires 3 colours per student.
