Two toolkits designed to help students construct sentences in the comparative and superlative in French.

A toolkit designed to model and scaffold students to have a conversation about whether they are part of a club, how often they train, when they have competitions, and whether they would like to be part of another club and why. Great for use of present, past and conditional tenses, as well. Can be used as a revision guide or also useful as an introduction to the topic of sports, hobbies and clubs.

A reading comprehension about school subjects and teachers for KS3. Differentiated - one foundation version and one higher. Despite the different text, the questions in the exercises will have the same answers, so that marking can happen at the same time with all students involved.

Students do a survey in their class about how much pocket money they receive, who from, how often and what they do with it. Then a translation exercise from English into French.

This resource is designed to help students understand the main adjective agreement rules for French. It is scaffolded, so students build up their confidence from regular to irregular adjectives. It also includes short translation exercises, so that students can apply the adjective agreement rules.

A reading comprehension which uses language from the toolkit I've shared on being part of a club. The text includes 'interviews' from Mo Farrah, Rebecca Addlington, and Tom Daley. There are two versions of the text (higher/foundation), with exercises afterwards. However, the answers are the same so you can mark it with the class at the same time.

This fun activity gives students the chance to see what real-life adverts for houses up for sale look like. This is a chance for students to recognise key vocabulary from the topic of House/Home, such as rooms in the house. The exercise that follows allows students to work out complex and interesting vocabulary from the adverts, which they can then use themselves in a follow up activity - designing your own house for sale advert! I normally use this with a confident class in Year 8 or 9.

This is a very easy-to-use toolkit designed to help students talk about their family that goes beyond answering with one or two sentences. Students can develop their answers by talking about ages, physical descriptions and personality. A great resource for modeling in writing and speaking tasks.

This is a very handy, concise and clear checklist students aiming for the top grades can use when self/peer-assessing for their IGCSE speaking exam. But it can also be used for GCSE since the language requirements are so similar. It also includes a list of French idioms which examiners like to hear! Any feedback would be much appreciated :)

This is a toolkit designed to help HL students for the NEW French IB course for the oral exam. The toolkit shows students how to give a presentation on a literary extract which is clear, organised and analytical - three words which come directly from the language guide! It is laid out in a clear format into four detailed sections. For each section, there are sentence starters and key phrases. It also includes the mark scheme at the end so that students can self/peer-assess their presentations. I hope you find it useful :)

With the new IB curriculum, there is now a Listening exam so I’ve created this booklet which also covers some speaking and reading, on the topic of Experiences/Loisirs. However, this would also be suitable for A Level. There is a starter speaking activity on ‘un bon touriste/un mauvais touriste’ and also a reading activity on advantages and disadvantages of tourism, followed by a listening exercise on ecotourisme from a France24 extract and then a plenary. The link for the listening is in the booklet and I’ve also included the answers on a separate document. I hope it’s useful for you :)
