The learning concept: The concept is that the acronym SCAMPER is used by each consecutive student to alter the last students’ design. I normally allow each student ten minutes per alteration. The students really enjoy this activity and it can be stretched to a 1 hour duration Learning Outcomes: In this lesson, students will gain an understanding of: Different design movements Free hand sketching as they can use other’s designs as a springboard for inspiration Gain confidence in annotating each other’s designs This will culminate in them drawing more complex combinations of these designs, which can then be judged by the student or peer assessed to describe the favourite design. Students will also learn subject specific key words that will underpin their design and technology vocabulary.
