About Al Basma British School
Al Basma British School is a co-educational independent all-through school. It is based in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
The school opened its doors in 2014. Students follow the National Curriculum of England, with additional lessons in Arabic language, UAE Social Studies and Islamic Studies (for Muslim students) to meet the requirements of the UAE Ministry of Education. In terms of facilities, the school has a multi-purpose sports hall, a 25-metre swimming pool, play areas, a medical clinic with experienced nurses, a cafeteria, an administration hub, resourced classrooms, interactive whiteboards, technology-enabled learning resource centres, a library, specialist science labs and performing arts studios.

Al Basma British School has a strong tradition of fostering students’ personal and social development within a supportive and caring environment. The school aims to enhance each student’s unique skills and talents in an environment of mutual respect which promotes resilience, confidence, self-esteem and self-management skills. Personalised learning is at the heart of the school’s approach. Lessons are carefully planned to stretch students and to provide the challenges they need to progress as active and independent learners. Al Basma British School wishes to develop well-rounded bilingual students, to ensure it has effective links with parents, to use innovative technology effectively, to embrace UAE identity and values, and to provide a world-class yet affordable British education to families in the local and international communities of Abu Dhabi.
