About IES Breckland

IES Breckland is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary school in Brandon, Suffolk. It is part of the family of International English Schools from Sweden, selected as education provider on behalf of the Sabres Educational Trust. 

There are 500 students on the school roll, taught between the ages of 11 and 16. IES Breckland has established links with West Suffolk College. The school offers 20 students the chance to undertake the Duke of Edinburgh bronze award each year. Its motto is "aim, believe, achieve".

Values and vision

IES Breckland fosters an international atmosphere and a calm and productive learning environment, where teachers can teach and students can learn. Standards are high and students are expected to have high aspirations and self-esteem. The school supports children to achieve better than they thought possible and equip them with skills they need for a successful transition to either further education or meaningful employment.

Sport and the Creative Arts are large parts of the extra-curricular offer, with regular shows and concerts taking place, along with fixtures and competitions in a wide variety of sports.
