About Oasis Academy Silvertown
About the School
Oasis Academy Silvertown is situated just south of the Royal Victoria Docks in Britannia Village, London. We are a brand new co-educational school admitting students between the ages of 11-16. Deliberately small we offer a safe learning environment for local children, as well as excellent educational opportunities for our young minds to reach their full potential.
Serving a close knit community, members of which are highly supportive, parents are keen to contribute to the development of the academy alongside Academy Council members. The original vision for the academy reflected the distinctive geographical context in which we are located; we designed a curriculum preparing students for the anticipated career opportunities that the Royal Docks can offer over the coming decades. With this in mind we have built strong partnerships with local businesses and will continue to harbour these relationships as the school develops. We want our young people – and their families – to benefit from this real wealth of opportunity. We are not alone. In 2011, the Mayor of Newham and the Mayor of London published an exciting Vision for the Royal Docks. We are at the heart of this regeneration.
As part of the Oasis ethos, we are driven by a passion to transform the lives of our students. Therefore we pledge to develop our students academically, creatively, socially, physically, emotionally and morally, whilst helping them build the confidence to flourish through independence. Moreover it is our vision as a school to prepare our students for the next stages in their lives through focusing on 5 key principals:
Oasis Academy Silvertown; Ready for university. Ready to lead. “
