Our Lady and Saint Peter RC Primary School

Allow me to extend a warm welcome from all governors, staff and children of Our Lady and St Peter RC Primary School in Bridlington. I am delighted you have shown interest in joining us and I look forward to sharing with you what makes our school a very special place to work.

You will be joining a highly ambitious, aspirational group of professionals who are raising standards through inspired Catholic Leadership, and significantly improving the life chances of the children of Bridlington and the Yorkshire Coast.

I am proud to be the Executive Headteacher of Our Lady and St Peter RC Primary, which provides a nurturing, safe and inspiring place of learning to our children within the area of Bridlington. Yes we have challenges within our context, but our values and ethos of a school where ‘children at the centre – Jesus at the Heart’ are firmly embedded.

As a school we have been in a successful Federation with our sister school ‘St George’s RC Primary School’ (based in Scarborough) since 2015. All staff across both schools work closely together sharing resources, planning and expertise in teaching and learning.

In 2019 we converted to join the St Margaret Clitherow Catholic Academy Trust, a newly formed growing family of 17 schools through the Diocese of

Middlesbrough based across North Yorkshire, East Riding and the City of York. Alongside accessing our successful Catholic Coastal Partnership Training School and Trust career pathways, you will join a school where staff development, training and resources are at our very heart.

From September 2021 we will have a new leadership model across our Federation. We are recruiting to two new Head of School roles at OLSP and St George’s. The post of our new Head of School is incredibly important for our journey and we are looking for a colleague who shares the same ethos and values, understands our local context and can provide the inspired Catholic leadership our staff thrive on and deserve! This is a non teaching post.

Staff morale is high and we have a commitment to recognise individual potential and to provide support, CPD and training for colleagues joining our school at all levels; you will never feel unsupported or alone in our school.
