Pride International School Myanmar (Mandalay)

The Mandalay campus of Pride International School Myanmar came about due to expansion of the original school after its successful first few years. The set of schools are all non-denominational schools situated in the cities of Mandalay and Yangon, the latter the former capital of Myanmar. Where the original school has a total of four campuses, two for Early Childhood Education, one for primary and one for secondary, the Mandalay sister campus provides a home for nursery, kindergarten, primary and secondary learning on one site. The Mandalay site is in Chan Mya Thar Si Tsp, to the very West of Myanmar. It is an English language state school and a Cambridge International School, meaning it is qualified to test students with the Cambridge exams.

The school’s first branches were inaugurated in Yangon in the 2001-2002 school year. It grew to the extent that the new Mandalay campus opened in its current location in 2005. From 2014-2016, all schools transited to using the UK curriculum.

Values and Vision

The Pride ISM mission statement is to help all its students excel in education and as a person, helping them to become well-rounded individuals and the leaders of tomorrow in Myanmar and abroad. It has a strictly student-focused approach, but also emphasises their role as the centre of a community, ensuring that they have a sense of global mindedness and environmental awareness to expand their minds and help provide them with a sense of responsibility. Despite the schools’ natures as an international schools, they also ensure that children are strongly aware of Myanmar’s culture, history and language as part of their education.
